We work with a wide range of data partners to chart the world's oceans in order to develop and serve world leading software and data solutions to commercial shipping companies, navies and maritime organisations. Our products ensure safe navigation and global trade efficiency and support other marine activities including economic development, environmental protection, resource exploration and utilisation, scientific research and security and defence.
The roleThe Tactical Products Team is one of several Production Teams within the UKHO’s Customer Division that are responsible for the maintenance and production of the UKHO’s extensive range of navigational and situational awareness products and services for the Royal Navy and our commercial customers. Within the Littoral and Riverine (LitR) team, your tasks will include:
- Assessment and compilation of hydrographic and topographic data, imagery and elevation models to generate products that provide Situational Awareness for littoral access
- Gaining insights from Open-Source information to help compile geospatial products
- Geospatial analysis of data to visualise and model features relevant to beach landings
- Designing, developing and maintaining Esri Web Apps to disseminate LitR products and services
- Use of desktop publishing applications to design page layouts and compile LitR reports
This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the future capability of the LitR team and will offer the successful candidate experiences in a stimulating subject area that will be widely transferable and is in direct support to UK military operations.
