Use your data handling and analytical skills to help ensure electoral arrangements in local government remain fair. 

 We are an independent body accountable direct to Parliament. We recommend fair electoral and boundary arrangements for local authorities in England. We want you to: 

 use and develop mapping tools to best effect and support others to do the same 

  • support senior level decision-making through focussed analyses of electoral, management and customer data  

 We’re a small and friendly organisation where you’ll be able to make a real personal impact. We operate within a formal legal framework but are informal in our day-to-day work. Our small size means you’ll need to flexible. You’ll find us flexible in return. 

Job Requirements:

This post plays an essential role as the Commission’s Geographical Information System (GIS) expert, ensuring that the Commission uses mapping tools, and develops them, to best effect. You will do this by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills, applying them in your own work and using them to assist colleagues.      
 
You will play a critical role in ensuring that the Leadership Team and the Board are provided with focussed analyses of customer insight and management information data. You will contribute to the development of the Commission’s forward work programmes by providing analyses of electoral information.  
 
The ability to work flexibly, reactively where necessary and with innovation are important considerations as the role combines ensuring statutory and governance reporting and requirements alongside delivering solutions for improvements, new ways of working and new challenges.
