Due to internal promotion, we are seeking a Tactical Products Specialist to join the Littoral and Riverine team.
 
This is an opportunity to apply your knowledge of GIS software and Adobe packages to help produce world leading situational awareness products and services for the Royal Navy and commercial customers.

UKHO is an executive agency, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence. We work with a wide range of data partners to chart the world's oceans in order to develop and serve world leading software and data solutions to commercial shipping companies, navies and maritime organisations. Our products ensure safe navigation and global trade efficiency and support other marine activities including economic development, environmental protection, resource exploration and utilisation, scientific research and security and defence.
 
The role
 
The Tactical Products Team is one of several Production Teams within Customer Division that are responsible for the maintenance and production of the UKHO’s extensive range of navigational and situational awareness products and services for the Royal Navy and our commercial customers. Within the Littoral and Riverine team your tasks will include: 
 
  • Producing Littoral & Riverine Tactical Products for the Royal Marines/Royal Navy (RM/RN)
  • Compiling and updating Country Reports 
  • Compiling Special Tactical Operation Information Charts (STOICs)
  • Compiling and updating of Hydrographic Port Assessments (HPAs)
  • Responding to requests for bespoke products (RFIs) - preparing and supplying directly to customers as required
  • Providing support to Exercises and Operations with compilation of suites of products agreed with RM/RN customer
  • Manipulating and analysing source data using GIS techniques
  • Product design and compilation using Adobe Creative suite software, primarily Adobe InDesign

Job Requirements:

You will have practical experience in utilising ESRI ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Cloud and Acrobat Pro/DC, and MS Office 365 software packages to manipulate, manage and present data sets or generate products. You will thrive on working as part of a supportive team sharing a common goal and get job satisfaction from delivering quality, fit for purpose outcomes to meet customer needs.
