Job Description:
You are a passionate and enthusiastic GIS professional, looking to lead Historic England`s expert Corporate GIS team as they provide support to a diverse range of customers using our ESRI based enterprise GIS systems. From historic estate management to marketing campaigns, these systems support the work of the English Heritage Trust and Historic England so that our historic environment is accessible to all.
As a major advocate for GIS, you will enable us to fully realise the powerful capabilities GIS can offer. Through business partnering with both internal and external stakeholders and overseeing the teams` day to day service portfolio, you will strategically develop the GIS service, shaping it to be more focussed, efficient and cost effective. This will ensure maximum business benefit from our investment in Geographic Information and GIS technologies.
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of managing GIS products (ESRI 9.x or 10.x Arc) in an enterprise scale organisation. With an excellent understanding of geographical concepts, techniques and approaches, you are also familiar with ordnance survey digital data products and building and running geo-processing tasks. Confident in writing application requirement specifications, you have an analytical mind with a focus on detail and accuracy. A natural communicator, you have exemplary business partnering and engagement skills and the ability to work effectively with staff of differing seniority.
We offer a wide benefits package including a competitive pension scheme, 28 days holiday, corporate discounts, free entry into English Heritage sites as well as the flexibility in your working day that creates a strong work-life balance.
Interviews are likely to be held in Swindon on w/c 10th June.
We pride ourselves in creating an inclusive working environment where your individuality will enable us to be successful. We are committed to having a recruitment experience that creates opportunity for all.
