Summary

We’re looking for a GIS professional to join our Consultancy team. As an expert in the field, your important work will provide exceptional service and support to our Property and Consultancy staff and managers across Northern Ireland. Your hard work will help to ensure that the objectives set out in our “Land, Outdoors and Nature” Programme are achieved.

What it's like to work here

The National Trust owns and operates a fascinating and varied portfolio of properties and estates. Being based primarily at our regional offices, in Rowallane House at Saintfield, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved with issues relating to all our properties across Northern Ireland, from the splendour and magnificence of the Mount Stewart and Castle Ward estates to the scenic beauty of the North Coast and the unique landscapes of Fermanagh. We can offer an exciting role where you can make a real difference working alongside a dedicated team of multi-disciplinary consultants.

What you'll be doing

As our GIS Consultant you’ll lead our GIS consultancy service for the region, ensuring we provide innovative solutions to real world operational challenges and supporting both property clients and others based within the consultancy. Part of the support you’ll provide will be to help our property teams become more self-reliant, so you’ll also be coaching and training our teams to enhance their GIS skills and to make sure they’re able to get the most out of the GIS tools available to them.

You’ll also ensure that our records and data remain compliant with national data standards, and with the support of our GIS Data Officer, your datasets will be used to help make evidence-based decisions for our Business and Management Plans throughout Northern Ireland. Not only this, but the datasets will also form part of a wider collaboration of data that will support key processes for the whole Trust.

You’ll take the lead on Northern Ireland master property data, and will be a champion of the Trust through GIS and data management. An important element of your role will be to build relationships and partnerships with external parties, sharing expertise and experiences.
