Technical Services within the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences is seeking to appoint a Senior Technical Instructor GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to provide instruction/specialist support as part of the Department of Applied Sciences progamme teams.
This will involve embedding the skills required for GIS, bioinformatics for the environmental and biological sciences for use in practice and promoting an outstanding student experience. It also involves directly preparing, instructing and supporting one or more Academic programmes(s) on a day to day basis.
You will be a key member of the environmental technical team supporting UWE &programs in wildlife ecology and conservation science environmental and biological sciences. Responsibility will be yours for creating and delivering practical training and instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students in all areas of GIS, and you will also support practical classes in the laboratory
and in the field, both in the UK and overseas.
You will have:
- Experience of working with GIS in HE or consultancy.
- Experience of instructing people in technical methods.
- A degree in conservation, biological or environmental sciences
- Field study skills.
