Closing date for Applications: 3 January 2016
Interviews to be held on 15 January 2016

Based at Precision Decisions, you will help to achieve the Knowledge Transfer Partnership’s objectives to generate applications and web-based tools to convert raw spatial agronomic data into coherent spatial agronomic information to better serve the UK precision agriculture community.

Candidates with a Masters Degree in Computing Science or similar with programming skills are highly desirable.  The position will suit a computer programmer that has an interest or background in agricultural or environmental systems.  Suitable candidates with an Honours Degree will be considered. The successful candidate will have good interpersonal and team working skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and work to tight deadlines.

The position comes with benefits including an additional £6,000 individual training budget and excellent management training supported by academic experts, company and KTP Advisers.

The position provides the opportunity to undertake a MRes or PhD plus the potential for long term career prospects with Precision Decisions; this is an excellent opportunity which will present an extremely interesting, varied and challenging role.

Precision Decisions Ltd was set up in 2003, to offer comprehensive Precision Farming Services based on sound agronomic and practical experience. We first started utilising Precision Farming techniques at farm level implementing Yield Mapping, Soil Sampling and N Sensing back in 1997 then offering these services through our farming business N Blacker & Son. Whilst continuing to offer variable rate application services, the demand to supply and integrate Precision Farming technology further required a more coherent approach. As a result Precision Decisions Ltd was formed. http://www.precisiondecisions.co.uk/

The post is fixed-term for a duration of 3 years with a strong probability of continuing employment on successful completion of the KTP project.
